
So here it is. Are you ready? Take care of yourself.
Yup. That’s it, if you start caring for yourself, you’ll feel better and things will start to go your way. Sounds simple right? Well, it’s not. This is probably the hardest thing for most us to do. There’s always something taking precedence, whether it be our job, our family, a crisis, always something to get in the way of our taking care of ourselves.
So I’ve come up with a couple of quick things that you can start with, that don’t take much discipline or time, and that can help with the motivation to really start caring for ourselves the right way.
There are really three parts to caring for yourself; good nutrition, consistent exercise and love. With these three things, you can’t go wrong.
Cheat Number One: Good Nutrition
Stress and lack of time make you go for the things you know you shouldn’t have? Can’t get motivated to change your diet? Here’s two things you can add to your daily regimen that will not only improve your health, but they’ll improve your mood and make you want to take better care of yourself:
Fish Oil - This stuff has been proven to increase mental functioning, including mood. And, how about that, it comes in a pill! So you don’t even have to eat fish if you don’t want to. Just take a morning supplement of fish oil. That’ll get you on your way.
B-Complex – I find, even though I live in paradise now, my body is somehow accustomed to getting a bit down in the winter time. So I just take a Mega B Complex every morning and you’d be surprised how it can keep you feeling upbeat.
Cheat Number Two: Love
Love thyself! This is so important, and if you choose the right things to love yourself with, you’ll find it leaves you wanting to love yourself even more!
Meditation – I read somewhere, that a true meditation is an uninterrupted thought that lasts for 12 seconds. That’s it! 12 seconds. In a world where we scarcely have time to go to the bathroom, sure is great that the universe made meditation so time efficient! Of course, the key is uninterrupted, and that can be a challenge for most of us. But it’s important! Have trouble sitting and meditating? Get a puzzle! They naturally induce a state of meditation and are the perfect cheat for those of us who struggle with meditation because we feel like we need to be doing something. All it takes is 12 seconds.
Massage – massage is so good for you, and it feels good too! Think it’s too expensive? I’ve got a secret… call a local massage school. They’ve got tons of students who are working on getting their license who need to book in their hours. They’ll do it for reduced rates, or even for free! That’s what I do, and it’s AWESOME. Releases toxins too, which we all need.
Cheat Number Three: Consistent Exercise
Okay… there really is no cheat for this one. Sorry to say! But really all it takes is a walk! The more active you are, the higher your energetic vibration will be. You’ll instantly feel better, have more energy and start looking better too. Yoga is great because if you choose the right routine, it doesn’t even really feel like exercise, it feels like stretching and relaxing, but it is in fact exercise and, to boot, it stimulates different organs and glands within the body to release things that make your body function better, and feel better.
